Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 22 August 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Waltail, a product of Appsjet Solutions LLP (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By creating an account, accessing waltail.com, or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Waltail.
If you are agreeing on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind it, and “you” refers to that organization.
2. The Service
Waltail is a hosted change data capture service. You connect a PostgreSQL database, choose the tables to capture, and Waltail streams every insert, update and delete from that database's logical replication stream to the destinations you configure — message queues, search indexes, object storage, webhooks and similar systems.
We may change, add to, or remove features over time. Where a change materially reduces functionality you rely on, we will give reasonable notice to account holders.
3. Accounts and Organizations
Waltail requires an account. Sign-in is passwordless: we email a one-time code to your address. You are responsible for keeping access to that mailbox secure, for the accuracy of your registration details, and for all activity under your account.
Accounts belong to an organization. Members with the admin role can manage billing, change plans, invite and remove members, and edit organization settings. API keys carry member-level rights. You are responsible for who you invite and for keys you issue; treat a key as you would a password, and revoke it if it may have been exposed.
Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
When using Waltail, you agree that you will not:
- Use it for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
- Connect a database you are not authorised to read, or deliver to a destination you are not authorised to write to.
- Stream data you have no lawful basis to process or transfer.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other customers' data, or interfere with the operation of the service.
- Copy, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the service without our prior written permission.
- Use the service in a way that places an unreasonable load on it, or that circumvents plan limits or rate limits.
5. Your Data and Your Responsibilities
You retain ownership of your database contents and everything Waltail captures from them. You grant us the limited rights needed to read, store, retry and deliver those changes in order to operate the pipelines you configure, and nothing more. Our handling of that data is described in our Privacy Policy, under which you are the controller and we act as your processor.
You are responsible for:
- Having a lawful basis for the data you stream, and for informing the people it concerns.
- The configuration of your source database, including the replication slot Waltail creates. An unconsumed slot causes your database to retain write-ahead log files; pausing a pipeline indefinitely, or leaving one unable to deliver, can therefore consume disk on your own server.
- The security and correctness of the destinations you deliver to, and the credentials you give us for them.
6. Plans, Egress and Payment
Waltail is billed on egress — the bytes delivered to your destinations. Pipelines, sinks and team seats are unlimited on every plan. Current prices and included egress are shown on our pricing page. Unless otherwise stated:
- The free plan requires no card and carries no charge.
- Paid subscriptions are charged at the start of each billing cycle and renew automatically until cancelled.
- Changing plans mid-cycle is prorated; the amount and its effective date are shown to you for confirmation before the change is made.
- We may revise pricing. Changes to subscription pricing take effect from the next billing cycle after notice to you.
- Access may be suspended for failed or overdue payments.
- All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes, which are charged as required by law.
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund / Cancellation Policy.
7. Availability
We aim to keep Waltail continuously available, and plans that include a published uptime commitment are subject to the service credits described for that plan. Except where such a commitment applies, Waltail is provided without any guaranteed level of availability. Scheduled maintenance, and outages in your database, your destinations, or the networks between them, are outside the scope of any commitment.
8. Intellectual Property
The Waltail service and everything in it — software, text, graphics, logos, designs and code — is the property of Appsjet Solutions LLP or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with these Terms; it transfers no ownership to you.
9. Warranties and Disclaimers
Waltail is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we strive for reliability, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, nor that every captured change will be delivered within any particular time.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Appsjet Solutions LLP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, or loss or corruption of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of Waltail. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amounts you paid us for the service during the twelve months preceding the claim.
11. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Waltail or cancel your subscription at any time from the billing settings. We may suspend or terminate access, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or harms other customers, us, or third parties.
On termination your right to use the service ends, your pipelines stop and their queued changes are deleted, and the replication slots Waltail created in your database are removed. Provisions that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law — will survive.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and material changes will be notified to account holders by email. Continued use of Waltail after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
